Why should you choose our service?
By working with an established and reputable agency (for maids, nannies, pet-care, elderly-care, drivers, chefs, security, and gardeners), you can greatly reduce the stress of finding the right person for your needs. At Ayasan, we strive to provide excellent service from the very beginning of your inquiry, throughout the placement process, and even after the helper has started working.
Although Ayasan was established in 2013, we have extensive experience through our joint venture with a leading Japanese company. With over 50,000 clients served and approximately 100,000 registered talents, Ayasan is recognized as the No.1 agency service in Southeast Asia. We have also provided our services to professional organizations such as the United Nations, several foreign embassies, and private companies. -
About candidates?
Ayasan conducts background checks and criminal record checks for all job seekers. We do not accept online applications alone; every candidate undergoes a face-to-face interview, and we keep all relevant documents (ID, visa, work permit) on file to ensure our clients’ security.
-
About criminal checks?
We conduct criminal checks on all of our candidates.
-
Where can interviews take place?
Clients have four options for conducting interviews with their prospective helpers:
-
Home Interview: 200,000 Rp (up to 3 candidates)
-
Office Interview: 50,000 Rp per candidate
-
Online Interview (WhatsApp/Google Meet/Zoom): 0 Rp (Free)
-
Try-Out: 200,000 Rp / 4 hours (minimum 4 hours)
-
-
How long does it take to arrange an interview?
Typically, it takes 1–3 working days to set up an interview after we receive your initial inquiry.
-
When can you start arranging the interview?
We can usually begin arranging interviews 7–10 days prior to the desired start date. Most job seekers cannot wait longer than that to begin work. If you decide to pay a salary while the helper is on standby, the helper might be willing to wait longer, but our company cannot guarantee this arrangement.
-
How is the bonus handled?
Many employers provide a bonus before Ramadan or at the end of the year (December). Common practice is one month’s salary (once a year). We recommend clarifying the conditions for this bonus, for example, awarding it after the helper has completed at least one year of service.
-
What should I ask in the interview?
We recommend inquiring about a candidate’s work experience, personality, and reasons for leaving previous jobs. Matching personalities is crucial, as our statistics show that 80% of issues arise from personal relationships rather than job skills. Focus on ensuring the candidate’s personality is a good fit for your household.
-
How about food allowance?
-
Live-in helpers: Most employers either provide meals or offer an additional 30,000–50,000 Rp/day.
-
Live-out helpers: Typically manage their own meals. Because of this, live-out helpers often request a higher salary than live-in helpers.
-
-
Can you provide a health check?
Yes. If you want your helper to undergo a health examination, you can request that they visit a hospital. It usually takes 1–3 days to complete, and costs around 600,000 Rp or more. In most cases, employers cover this cost.
-
Do you offer a replacement guarantee?
Yes, we do. If you are not satisfied with your helper, we will provide a replacement free of charge within the guarantee period. Please refer to our Price and Process page for more information.
-
Can you help us draft a contract?
designed to protect both you and your helper.

What is the policy for Indonesian public holidays?
-
Live-in helpers: Public holidays typically apply to major holidays such as Eid or Christmas, but other public holidays may be at your discretion, subject to local labor regulations.
-
Live-out helpers: Usually follow standard public holidays.
-
-
How about work permits/visas for foreign workers?
Foreign workers must adhere to Indonesian government regulations regarding work permits and visas. Ayasan screens all foreign candidates accordingly.
-
How about insurance for our maid/nanny?
If you wish to provide insurance for your helper, we recommend doing so after they have completed at least one year of service. Please contact an insurance provider (e.g., AIA) directly for more details.
-
How can I successfully manage the employment process?
There are three crucial steps to ensuring a successful employment:
-
Pay a reasonable salary
-
Avoid imposing too many rules
-
Encourage with praise
Hiring someone from a different background or culture is not always easy, but following these guidelines greatly increases the likelihood that your maid/nanny will become a valuable and supportive member of your household.
-
-
Should I offer a higher salary than the market standard?
This is subjective. However, consider that the helper’s years of experience can significantly affect their skill level and job performance. If you do find someone suitable, treat them well and compensate them fairly. Underpayment and overwork often lead helpers to seek new employment, and you may find yourself repeating the entire search process again.
-
Can the maid teach our children or help with their homework?
It is not advisable to rely on a maid or nanny to be a tutor. While some parents believe hiring a nanny with a degree means they can teach their children, remember that they are trained to be good caregivers and housekeepers, not professional tutors.
-
Can a maid do professional elderly care?
If your elderly family member needs tube-feeding, daily injections, or similar tasks, ensure the maid has prior experience or has received proper training. A caregiver certification from another country may differ in quality from Indonesian standards. Ideally, hiring a private nurse or certified caregiver is better for tasks requiring specialized medical knowledge, allowing the maid to focus on household chores and cooking.
